Urgent Care (By Appointment)
Urgent care differs from emergency veterinary care because it handles serious but non-life-threatening issues. Urgent issues may resemble emergency cases, but they are less severe.
Avenue Animal Hospital is not an emergency veterinary clinic. Our team can accommodate urgent cases for dogs and cats by appointment only. We will discuss your pet's condition with you and determine whether to book an appointment or refer you to the emergency veterinary clinic listed on this page for more immediate care.
What To Do If Your Pet Needs Care
The process of navigating an urgent or emergency situation will be much easier both for you and for your pet if you know what to expect. Here are a number of steps you should keep in mind:
STEP 1 - Call Ahead
Please call us before coming to our hospital so we can ensure there is a veterinarian available to see you. If you are experiencing an emergency, we recommend that you visit the 24/7 animal emergency hospital closest to you.
STEP 2 - Get to Our Office
One of the members of our veterinary team will show you to an exam room. If you haven't done so already, you will be asked to complete our New Patient Form. Your pet will be triaged before a full exam is completed.
STEP 3 - Determine Treatment
After your pet has been examined and diagnosed, our veterinarians will develop a treatment plan so that your pet will be able to receive the best possible treatment.
VetTriage Online Services
